WHAT YOU CAN DO
A shared catalogue brings different media together. Each item keeps its file variants and the controls appropriate to its format.
Source metadata and editorial corrections remain distinct. Original dates, partial dates and unknown fields stay visible.
Some reviewed files are preserved locally; others play directly from their source. Democracy Now! remains source-streaming only.
THE PUBLIC CATALOGUE
The public catalogue includes print material, Bill Nye episodes and Democracy Now! recordings. Search coverage is described rather than assumed.
Open a document or recording through its own viewer. File variants and source identity remain attached to the item.
Reading, playback or download access does not grant a reuse license. Consult the item’s source and rights context.
A FEW DETAILS
Yes. Arkhiv provides a Go engine and versioned HTTP API. Its reference React interface is optional; each deployment can own its frontend.
No. Delivery policy belongs to each collection. Democracy Now! streams from its source, and local preservation requires a separately reviewed collection and storage budget.
GPL-3.0 covers the platform software, not the documents or recordings in its collections.
